The Heart Behind the Name
Our Story
Damper represents Mark’s First Nations and South Sea Islander roots.
Fetū comes from Maryann’s Pacific Islander heritage, meaning “star” in Samoan.
Together, Damper & Fetū represents the beautiful blend of our worlds.
We like to see it as Earth and Sky coming together : )
How we got here
Our journey to this blog began during our travel to Uluṟu and Aotearoa New Zealand in 2025.
Mark brings his passion for cross cultural collaboration and First Nations and Australian cultures, while Maryann shares her love for art, weaving and community building.
But more than our individual talents, it’s our shared commitment to living with purpose that drives and weaves together everything we create here.
We started Damper & Fetū because we’re life partners, sharing our adventures and some tips
on family, work and passions to help others live and create their most authentic life.

The Real Talk
Building this blog while maintaining our family commitments and honoring our cultural values isn’t always easy. Some weeks, the content is late because someone needed extra care. Some months, our business revenue dips because we chose family time over work opportunities.
But this is exactly why our perspective matters. We’re showing that it’s possible to build wealth and success without sacrificing the things that matter most. It takes longer, it’s messier, and it definitely doesn’t look like the typical entrepreneurship journey – but it’s sustainable, it’s authentic, and it honors the wisdom of our ancestors who understood that true prosperity includes more than just money.
